The Mentalist is an American crime drama television series aired on CBS from September 23, 2008, to February 18, 2015, lasting seven seasons and 151 episodes. The series follows Patrick Jane, a former “psychic” who now works as a consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), helping to solve crimes by using his observation and deduction skills. Jane’s real goal is to find Red John, the serial killer who murdered his wife and daughter. The Mentalist was created by Bruno Heller, who also served as an executive producer on the show. The series starred Simon Baker as Patrick Jane, Robin Tunney as Teresa Lisbon, and Tim Kang as Kimball Cho. Other notable cast members included Owain Yeoman, Amanda Righetti, and Emily Swallow.
The Mentalist was a critical and commercial success, winning numerous awards, including a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for Baker and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Drama Series.
