Lucifer Broke the Netflix Record for the Biggest Opening Weekend Ever

In February 2020, Netflix started its new feature where users can view the top 10 most popular series and movies on Netflix. After the release of Lucifer season 5 part 1, In almost every county Lucifer was on #1 spot, and other had Lucifer on top 10. Not only series was trending worldwide, but it also broke the record in being the biggest opening weekend on Netflix which was previously held by The Umbrella Academy.

Flixpatrol collects the data worldwide to show which series or movie is popular on a specific day. According to this website, Lucifer has 683 points whereas The Umbrella Academy has only 411 points.

 

In 2019 also Lucifer became the most-watched streaming series worldwide. It was more popular than both Stranger things and 13 reasons why. By seeing these trends, we can assume that 2020 will also be the year of Lucifer.

Lucifer fans are already excited for part B of season 5. Part 2 of season 5 is most likely to be released in mid-2021. And Netflix has already renewed Lucifer for season 6, so Lucifer fans can enjoy the series for a couple of more years.
