Lost is a six-season American drama television series that aired on ABC from 2004 to 2010. It lasted 121 episodes and spanned six seasons. The show follows the survivors of a commercial jet airplane flying between Sydney and Los Angeles after it crashes on a strange island somewhere in the South Pacific Ocean, with elements of supernatural and science fiction. The plot is serialized to a large extent. A core storyline set on the island is usually featured in each episode, which is supplemented by flashback or flashforward sequences that provide greater insight into the persons involved.
Season 1 begins with the survivors of Oceanic Airlines Flight 815 being stranded on what appears to be an uninhabited tropical island after a plane crash. Their commander is Jack Shephard, a spinal surgeon. Polar bears, an invisible beast roaming the jungle, and the island’s malignant residents known as “The Others” are among the mystery entities threatening their survival.
